Prom nights come with a lot of preparation—finding the dress, the shoes, the accessories, the hair and makeup, and all the finishing details that make the evening feel special. By the time everything comes together, those first moments when everyone is dressed and ready are worth capturing beautifully.

This pre-prom session took place at a private home in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights, where two seniors gathered before heading out for the evening. Moments like these often unfold quickly, with friends, family, excitement, and a bit of joyful chaos all happening at once. Having a photographer who can step in easily, read the light, find the best locations, and guide everyone through the process makes all the difference.
